It's Wednesday!

Happy Wednesday everybody! Wednesday means that it is time for Show and Tell and Ask an Engineer on Adafruit's YouTube channel! Adafruit is not a sponsor. Sadly, I won't be able to watch live tonight or join in. I will be at an awards banquet. About a month ago I was told that I won an Entrepreneurial Concept Award for my new business Sparks to Sparkles that I started in December of 2016.

For now, I am going to share what I have been working on in the last week (besides all the homework in the world gearing up for finals). First, I've been working on some community outreach programs with the Society of Women Engineers. We've been going out to schools and Girl Scout troops in the community to share engineering with the world. I've been making 3D printed parts and models for the girls to help them learn about additive manufacturing. My 3D printer is very small and portable, making it ideal for outreach events. I've made some keychains for the girls and some robot models with toothpick jousts (because lady engineers love their jousting robots).

The other major thing that I have been working on this week is actually my engineering homework but it's still a fun project. I am working on making a self-watering planter with my team. Hopefully it will be done by next week when it is due (fingers and toes and everything possible crossed). More on that project soon!

I have some projects and another blog lined up on my summer agenda in a couple weeks, so stay tuned for what's in store!
